Communications Interface & Timeline
The Communications Interface and Timeline work together to give recruiters a complete, visual history of candidate interactions pulled from Bullhorn.
Communications Interface
The main panel displays candidate notes, messages, and activities in a scrollable, instant messaging-style format, organized chronologically.
Message Types
Blue bubbles (right side) — Outbound communications from your team.
Gray bubbles (left side) — Inbound communications from the candidate.
Centered entries — Status changes like placements or submissions, pulled from the candidate's related Bullhorn records.
Every bubble includes a header showing the note type, date, and time.
Loading Older Notes
Between the search bar and the Communications Interface is a "Load prior year" button. Clicking it compiles and scans notes from the previous year, adding them to both the timeline and the interface. This is useful for candidates with longer histories.
Communications Timeline
The vertical timeline on the left side of the interface provides a visual overview of communication activity over time.
How It Works
Blue bars represent outbound activity. Gray bars represent inbound activity.
Click on any time period in the timeline to jump to that section of the conversation.
Hover over a period to see the count of outbound vs. inbound communications.
Timeline Icons
The timeline may also display circular icons marking key events:
Submissions — Indicates a candidate was submitted to a position.
Status Updates — Marks changes in submission or candidate status.
Placements — Shows when a placement was made.
Hover over any icon for more details about that event. This lets recruiters quickly scan for key milestones and click into the relevant period of interaction.
